FAQ | Is it possible to mix a multi-track recording from a USB Drive on the TouchMix-30 Pro and send the stereo mix-down to a DAW using the USB digital audio output?
Learn how to create a stereo mix-down of a multi-track recording using the TouchMix-30 Pro and send the final output to a DAW through USB.
Answer
Yes, it is possible to source the audio from the connected USB drive that has the TouchMix-30 Multi-Track session and then feed the Main Mix bus back to the DAW to capture the mix.
Audio tracks 1-30 in the Multi-Track session on the USB drive will show on the corresponding TouchMix-30 input channels once the following steps have been followed:
- The Recording Mode has been set to “Multi-Track” on the TouchMix-30 Transport window.
- The Recording Session has been recalled on the TouchMix-30 Transport window
- Each TouchMix-30 input channel has been set to TRACK in the channel Setup tab.
The user can then use the TouchMix Transport to play back the audio from the drive and commence mixing.
From the mix perspective, the audio that is summed to the TouchMix-30 Main L/R mix bus will equally feed the 2-Track Record stereo channel. The 2-Track Record stereo channel will show as inputs 31/32 in the DAW input setup. The user will need to create a new stereo track in the DAW and then select Input 31/32 as the input source. Please note that the track creation and input selection process is dependent on the DAW itself and may differ from what is described.
