FAQ | What drives are supported for recording on TouchMix Series Mixers?

Answer


As there are far too many hard-drives available to test them all, the specifications below should ensure stability with TouchMix mixers.

  • FAT32 format is required (must be formatted on the TouchMix for proper operation).
  • Power draw 500 mA or less.
  • 2 TB or less capacity.
  • USB 2.0 compatible.
  • Higher speed drives (>7200 RPM) tend to work best.
    • Some higher speed drives don’t do their best when powered from the USB port and may require an external power supply. 
  • Solid State Drives also work well.
    • USB thumb-drives may work for recording a small number of channels but are not recommended although users report good results with better quality USB 3.0 thumb drives.
