Today's Lesson

In a music festival scenario, there will be several bands playing and you may not always know what the set is for each band until they get up on stage. This means as the mix engineer, you'll need to be prepared for anything.

To do this you can create a “festival scene” on TouchMix 30 Pro.

  • Bank 1 includes all the inputs for drums. You can load QSC’s world class instrument presets in each channel to get started.
  • In Bank 2 has instrument presets for bass, 2 acoustic guitars, 2 electric guitars and stereo keys.
  • In Bank 3, we have vocals ready to go. Also leave some blank channels in there as well for anything unforeseen that may need to be quickly plugged in.

On stage, make sure that vocals are hot in the monitors and every input and output that is in the festival scene is plugged in and ready to go whether it gets used or not.

And now, bring on the bands!
