Today's Lesson

Here's how to run a smooth sound check on a TouchMix at a multi-artist event.

  1. Use the feedback wizard to ring out the monitors before the band arrive.
  2. Use Channel presets to instantly dial in starting points for individual channel EQ, gate, and
    compression.
  3. Quickly dial in the input gain using the gain wizard to find the optimal gain.

    Tip

If you're using an iPad, set all analog trim to nominal levels and use the digital gain to fine tune for each channel.

  4. Have the band play to balance out the main mix levels and fine-tune the channel processing.
  5. Build monitor mixes quickly and easily using the aux mix fader for individual artist mixes or per
instrument using the aux tab within each channel strip.
  6. Add effects using the effects wizard.
  7. Save your settings as a scene and move on to the next band
