Today's Lesson

Today, we need to provide concert level sound without disturbing the neighbors behind us. To accomplish this, we'll set up a pair of delay speakers halfway back in the venue.

The problem we need to solve is that sound from the main loudspeakers is arriving later than the sound from the delay speakers for people sitting in the back section, so we need to time align these speakers and make it arrive at the same time. If the speakers are not time aligned, the people behind the delay speakers will hear an echo effect resulting in a lack of clarity.

To adjust for this we'll need to delay the signal going to this delay loudspeaker. On the TouchMix 30 Pro you'll access the setup menu for the output channel feeding the delay loudspeakers. Then select the button that says in and use the encoder wheel to choose
the amount of delay time needed.

Now that the speakers are time aligned, you have uniform control over the volume in all the venue and the people in the back are hearing the same thing as the people in the front.
