Learn how to install the TWS-IO temporary weather shield for LA108 and LA112 loudspeakers

Updated at August 16th, 2024

The Temporary Weather Shield protecting Input/Output connectors (TWS-IO) is intended to provide moisture protection for L Class LA108 and LA112 loudspeaker Network and Line cable connections. The kit consists of:

  • Frame assembly, which includes a frame and gasket
  • 4 screws for mounting the frame to the loudspeaker
  • Weather shield, which consists of a strap, D-rings, wire pass-through, window, and elastic ring for securement to the frame.

Procedure

  1. Mount the frame assembly to the loudspeaker with the gasket between the frame and loudspeaker. Use the four screws at the predrilled locations. Do not overtighten the screws.

  2. Route the Network and Line cables through the wire pass-through and connect them to the loudspeaker. Then, attach the shield's elastic band to the frame.

  1. Secure the strap around the wires using the two D-rings.
    1. Loosely wrap the strap counter-clockwise through the two D-rings.
    2. Pull the strap snug and insert through the two D-rings again.
    3. Reverse the strap clockwise and insert between the two D-rings, pulling through one of the rings.
    4. Wrap the strap clockwise, snugly, around the wires and secure with the hooks and loops to seal the opening.

  1. You're done!

    Note

After installation, it's easy to access the rear panel user interface to adjust loudspeaker settings. Partially remove the shield from the frame (left two corners) while keeping the strap secure around the cables.
