Whether you’re the sole monitor mixer for an event or you’re managing both FOH and monitors, there are some real advantages to managing monitors with an iPad from the stage.

Number one, being up there with the musicians sends an unspoken message that you’re committed to dialing in the best reference possible for each musician so they can perform their best.

Remember, how well a musician can reference their monitors can make or break their performance.

Number two, standing near their wedge while they’re sound checking allows you to hear what they’re hearing. This is especially helpful when working with an unexperienced musician who is unable to communicate exactly what they need.

You can be right there to make those changes they didn’t know to ask for.

So, Get mobile. Get your iPad, and get up on stage and make your musicians happy.
